According to historical sources, in the year 1385, when Carlos II of Navarre was reigning, primitive bullfights were already being held in Pamplona, different from the current ones but which meant that the bulls had to reach the bullring to be "bullfighted", or to "play" with them without death.

If we admit that the running of the bulls was born as the accompanying of the bulls through the streets of the city when they were taken to the bullring, we must deduce that at least 600 years ago there was already an embryonic running of the bulls in Pamplona, and that perhaps there was another “unlocking” , when the animals left the city, because then they did not die in the square.

Today the San Fermín Festivities are one of the most famous in the world. These parties generate an incredible economic, media and social impact. During 9 days of festivities the city changes color turning white and red.

Day 1. VISIT PAMPLONA FESTIVALS OF SAN FERMIN AND THE ENCIERRO

11:30 a.m. Reception at the meeting point, at the Café Iruña. Guided tour with our San Fermin expert through the streets of Pamplona's Encierro. From the slope of Santo Domingo to the bullring we will discover the most important and curious details of this 848-meter route and the ins and outs of the San Fermin Festival and the life of the Saint.
